LISC Announces Grants to Six Nonprofits That Are Expanding Access to Healthy Food in Low-Income Communities

Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is expanding access to healthy food in communities where high rates of unemployment and low family incomes make it difficult for residents to meet their needs.

Through the Healthy Food Access program, funded by the Walmart Foundation, LISC recently awarded $474,000 in grants to community-based nonprofits in six states to advance farmer-led urban agriculture, mobile food markets, rural health, as well as to assist local food councils that connect families to fresh food…including Hawaiʻi Good Food Alliance!
